Out of the Mountains

The book, Out of the Mountains, addresses emerging threats in locations not associated with terrorism. For the cover design, we sought out imagery of locations that, at first glance, register as typical waterfront property, maybe even the type of place you might visit. However upon closer review, the buildings are in disrepair and the view is oddly devoid of humans. This still landscape, combined with the grayscale palette and bold sans serif type treatment, subtly complete the thought that all is not as it seems.
